Paradise Lost Trilogy (1996, 2000, 2011) Joe Berlinger & Bruce Sinofsky

I watched the three of these today and last night in preparation for the recently released 'West Of Memphis', a follow on from these three documentaries. Taken as a whole they are essential viewing with the first and third being fantastic and the second more so dealing with the aftermath of the first documentary as opposed to any major developments in the case itself (although there still are some and plenty to keep you occupied without overindulging in repeated footage or information). Think along the line of Morris's Thin Blue Line but this Trilogy is superior in my opinion, however be prepared to anger up the blood! If you want to stick to your horror buzz I think this qualifies. This is true horror.

  1. Compelling stuff, I was glued to the case for the past few years. I felt West Of Memphis was like you described Part II of Paradise Lost, a bit of a recap, but it's still worth watching, much better production value.

If you're looking for something similar watch Death on the Staircase (2004) , it's a 9-part mini-series, 30 minute episodes. Real good show.
